2013: Roof top garden, West Hampstead
A complete design and build of this penthouse flat roof top garden required maximisation of available space and attention to detail of this intricate of space.
Detailed plans were required for the complex lighting, irrigation and construction of the combined timber, paving and glass inserts on the floor. The glass floor panels were lit with LED strip lights along with the underside of the low level floating bench. Arctic white Hunzer lights within the pots and living walls complemented the planters.

2011: Little Ickford, Aylesbury
Natures Balance designed and constructed this unique natural swimming pool/lake in the gardens of a 16th century village property in Buckinghamshire. The original pool was removed and a 350sq.m combined pool and planted regeneration zone with a natural stone hot spring and stream has been built. The latest pump and filter technology filters the fresh water biologically and mechanically without the need of chemicals.

Careful ground engineering and drainage was required before the sculpting of the lake surrounds, boardwalk and jetty construction was built. Giant boulders from the glacial valleys of Scotland were introduced to create a truly natural feeling environment.

2011: NW6 Hillside Close
Natures Balance was called to transform a small rear courtyard space. The space was the view from the large open plan kitchen and dining room and accessed via patio doors. The courtyard needed to be more interesting and exciting without any major hard landscaping works. Two arches were built from sheet metal with a pebble mosaic back and installed within the existing green ivy wall. Two twisted stem bay trees clipped in pertect spheres were uplit by discreet lights installed in the pots. A modern twist to the traditional courtyard arches, which worked well with the clean, modern interior design of the kitchen and dining room.

The design and construction of the landscape for this garden required council permissions. The back garden was dug out to basement level for the construction of a large 10 x 5 meter exquisitely finished swimming pool with two waterfalls appearing to run into the pool. A large-scale project, it further involved the construction of an underground utility room housing the pump, filtration and heating systems for the swimming pool plus a fully automated irrigation system. Limestone paving, brick planters, a pergola and Portland stone front steps created the finishing touches to the landscaping of this stately home.

Front garden and interior landscape. Natures Balance designed and built an exclusive front garden, which included a limestone staircase with period style iron railing in keeping with the original and authentic look of the property. Discreet built-in lights were installed to enhance the forms and structure of the front garden. The interior of the property had a light well paved and rendered in garden style with up-lit pots and artificial buxus creating maximum use of the light well.

This beautiful corner house with period character had a circular feature garden designed in natural York stone. The existing large Elm tree created a natural focus point for a sculptural stone seat overlooking the private front garden. A retained curving access was built down to the basement level where Natures Balance installed a rainwater-harvesting unit for the garden irrigation.

Full front garden soft landscaping involving council consents on this Grade 2 listed building. Back garden was created in conjunction with Clifton Nurseries where Natures Balance designed and built a Galaxy granite lined under floor aquarium under the conservatory extension with a glass floor. Furthermore, Natures Balance designed and built an additional water feature with a large fountain display on an automated sequence.

Natures Balance designed and installed these bespoke steel automated front gates in keeping with this historic Gatehouse. The architecture of the Gatehouse was reflected in the design of the gates to maintain authenticity.

A contemporary landscape was designed and constructed for this smallish sized rear garden. Hardwood framed, sandblasted glass panels were subtly backlit accentuating the form of the clipped bay trees. A granite faced water feature was centrally built at the back of the garden with limestone paving, reflecting the clean and crisp lights and contrasting nicely with the polished Galaxy granite. The subtle and clean design created a larger space to enjoy and needing only minimal maintenance.

Natures Balance designed and built this extensive water feature merging from a modern style reflection pond into a 15 meter natural stone and pebble stream leading to a lower garden pond. A rill and waterfall feature created the transition from modern reflection pond to the natural stream. Natures Balance installed the relevant filter technology for easy maintenance.
landscaping north west london 2000: Tutukaka, New Zealand
Full design and build of this exclusively located beach side holiday home. The hard landscaping included decking, boardwalks and retaining walls and was built using native wood and materials. A New Zealand styled planting scheme was created merging with the neighbouring native bush for authenticity and balance. The boardwalk built at a higher level than the garden to create a feeling of walking through ‘wild and natural’ New Zealand.

2005: NW6 Greville Road
Natures Balance designed and constructed hard and soft landscaping with extended use of a new ground level basement creating an extended patio and terraced retaining. A ‘floating’ staircase was built over the light well, new front gates and boundary walls including the garage entrance in brickwork and reclaimed York stone.
